Additional Club Facility Closures Due to Coronavirus
Dear Olympians,
As many of you are probably aware, effective at midnight tonight, a shelter in place order will require all San Francisco residents to stay home with limited exceptions. As a result, all Club services will be shut down, including the Golf and Tennis facilities.
In addition to the above information, here are answers to a number of frequently asked questions we received over the weekend:
- Food & Beverage Minimums: F&B minimums will be waived during the closure.
- Admissions: The Club has temporarily paused admissions through April 30.
- Events: All Olympic Club events through April 30 will be cancelled or postponed. This includes, but is not limited to, tournaments, group clinics, social events and all outside events.
- Hotel Reservations: All hotel reservations have been cancelled through April 30.
- Locker Room Access: Locker rooms will not be accessible during the shelter in place order. In the case of an emergency, please contact City Clubhouse Director Abhishek Sonkar to make arrangements to retrieve items from a locker at the City Clubhouse and Lakeside Clubhouse Manager Marc Passetti to make arrangements to retrieve items from a locker at the Lakeside Clubhouse.
At this time, Club leadership is intending to continue paying our permanent salaried and hourly employees their normal wages.
Dues will remain in effect for now. We will evaluate this further as we move forward in the long-term best interests of our Club, our members and our employees. Please bear with us as we strive to make careful, thoughtful decisions during these unprecedented times.
Not surprisingly, we have identified at least one member who has contracted the virus. This is a good reminder to carefully follow the safety recommendations and protocols established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the San Francisco Department of Public Health.
We will continue to update our members as more information becomes available.
Stay safe, Olympians.
Sincerely,
Leslie J. Davis, The Olympic Club 2020 President
